My team and I set out to beautify post-consumer waste in our hanging luminaire made of polycarbonate and recycled laundry baskets. The baskets were cut into tiny pieces and poured into an Arabic tile-inspired mold, then melted with a heat gun. This become the flowery, draping piece that tops the lamp, a complement to the bud-like polycarbonate lamp shade.
